The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck is one of the most eagerly anticipated vehicles for quite a few years now. Jeep has been teasing the redesigned Jeep Wrangler for years.
The hype is mostly because this new model is the first fully redesigned version of the iconic Jeep Wrangler in more than a decade. That alone is enough to have everybody line up in stores.
It also helps that the vehicle is arguably one of the most "American" rides money can buy, seeing as it helped win the World War II. Although the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck has yet to make an appearance in any of the previous auto shows this year, it was confirmed that it would be released next year.
According to FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, the recast Wrangler won't be shown to any dealer nor the press until this fall. Marchionne also said that the public launch would probably be delayed until next year's North American International Auto Show.
In the statement, Marchionne also mentioned that the Jeep Wrangler Pickup would be the "perfect car that fixes all the problems with the old car." Not only that, but the new model also gets to keep the identity of the Wrangler. It truly is a win-win situation.
As reported by Forbes, the production of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck will begin this November at Jeep's Toledo, OH plant. The vehicle is going through its first complete makeover since the 2007 model.
It is expected to look all new both inside and out. However, it will still feel pack some signature Wrangler feel to it so loyalists can still look forward to the vehicle. Spy shots of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck are heavily disguised engineering prototypes. However, based on the prototypes, it looks like Wrangler will continue with its basic front end treatment. It will retain Jeep's trademark seven-slot grille. Spy shots of the pickup can be found here.
The round headlamps are also expected to be one of the things this brand new Jeep will retain. This time around, it will have modern LEDs. A revised rear-end treatment could also feature a nominally raked back window.
