2017 Toyota Rav4: Brand's Latest Flagship Model? Expects To Overpower Camry Sales This Year

Toyota Camry had ruled over the reputation of being the brand's best-selling vehicle in years. However, with the new 2017 Toyota Rav4, the Japanese automaker is expecting to increase the sales of the SUV's rugged version. What features of the vehicle will most likely make it earn flagship model title?

Sales Forecast. Bill Fay, the General Manager of Toyota Division, recently announced that the functional changes made to the latest 2017 Toyota Rav4 will garner the brand 400,000 units' worth of sales this year. As reported by Auto News, the developments to the model were in response to consumer preferences determined by the brand's R&D team. In response to these findings, the latest model will have a different look as the market segment it belongs to continue to expand. Moreover, Toyota wishes to grasp consumer acceptance by the time the vehicle launches which would pave the way for further developments to the model, said Chief Engineer Greg Bernas.

The Specs. What, then, makes the 2017 Toyota Rav4 stand out? First of all, the functional changes such as the towing package installed with a more vigorous radiator and supplemental cooling for the engine oil and transmission fluid. Per CNET, it will be made available with both the front-wheel and all-wheel drive features, depending on consumer preference, with a limited-slip differential. The model also has an elevated ride height and has been installed with the Trailer Sway Control and Hill-Start Assist Control. These features made the vehicle more capable of off-road driving.

Furthermore, it was also installed with 18 in. black aluminum wheels, huge fender flares, lower bodyguards, and was encrypted with unique badges. In fact, it has gained a more rugged look with its black headlight trims which afford for light surrounds. A roof rack was also installed. On its interiors, the 2017 Rav4 has Adventure door sills, all-weather floor and cargo mats with a leather-wrapped shift know, and 120-volt cargo area power outlet.
