All New 2018 Hyundai Accent Will Make Its Debut At 2017 Canadian Auto Show

Hyundai has just released a teaser video of the next-generation 2018 Hyundai Accent sedan that is expected to become a North American-spec next generation Hyundai Accent. The new model is set to debut at the 2017 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on February 16, 2017.

Its debut will follow this week's launching of the 2018 Elantra GT at the 2017 Chicago show and signals the Korean car maker's determination to overhaul its compact lineup. The new model is also expected to offer hatchback body styles once again.

In addition, the next-gen Hyundai Accent's designs elements are said to be inspired by other latest Hyundai models. For example, the new cascading grill which was first introduced with the 2017 Hyundai i30 and later seen on the 2017 Hyundai i10, and the Hyundai Elantra-inspired three-bar taillamps.

The all-new 2018 Hyundai Accent is expected to measure around 4,405 mm in length. 1,729 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600. But its engine and transmission are still unknown. The outgoing Hyundai Accent is powered by a standard 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine which can produce 137 hp at 6,300 rpm and 123 lb-ft. of torque at 4,850 rpm. The car's power is directly sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Even though the new model is teased as a sedan, its already anticipated that a hatchback body style will be joining the 2018 Accent lineup for the North American Market. Hyundai's newest fleet of technologies such as the updated Bluelink telematic systems is also expected to come with the car along with the latest multimedia interface that features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Hyundai didn't disclose any details about the car price. But expect it to be close to its outgoing car, which in the United States starts off at $13,999 for the L trim sedan and goes up to $19,999 for the GLS Auto model in hatchback and four-door flavor. The 2018 Hyundai Accent is anticipated to go on sale sometime later this year.
