Robert Wagner: Suspect in Natalie Wood’s Death? (VIDEO)

Los Angeles investigators have determined that actor Robert Wagner is not a suspect in the death of his late wife Natalie Wood according to new reports.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's office ended any speculation that the actor had anything to do with Wood's death in 1981. Police first confirmed that Wagner declined to be interviewed after word got out that they were re-opening the investigation to determine how Wood died according to the Associated Press.

Wood was killed on Nov. 29, 1981 near Catalina Island not far off the coast of Southern California.

Wagner was first interviewed shortly after her death, as he was on the yacht the night Wood was killed. The yacht was owned by actor Christopher Walken, who was the only other one onboard besides the couple.

Wagner insisted that nothing has changed since he was first interviewed, and feels there is no reason for him to go on the record again, despite the constant attempts by sheriff's Lt. John Corina.

"Mr. Wagner has fully cooperated over the last 30 years in the investigation of the accidental drowning of his wife in 1981," said Blair Berk, Wagner's attorney, in a prepared statement to TV Guide. "Mr. Wagner has been interviewed on multiple occasions by the Los Angeles sheriff's department and answered every single question asked of him by detectives during those interviews."

The case was re-opened in Nov. 2011, and since then over 100 people have been interviewed, but Wagner has constantly refused. Earlier this week, police officials requested the autopsy report that has been under tight security since Wood's death. The report detailed why Wood's death had been reclassified from an accidental drowning to a drowning caused by "undetermined factors" this past July according to the Associated Press.

Walken gave a prepared statement and spoke to detectives for around an hour recently, and other actors who knew both Wagner and Wood have been interviewed as well.

"Most of the people we've talked to were never talked to 30 years ago," said Corina. "We've got a lot of new information. All we can do is collect the facts. We're still trying to collect all the facts."

Wood was famous for her roles in the movies "West Side Story," "Rebel Without a Cause," and "Miracle on 34th Street." She was an Academy Award nominee three times during her film career for films such as "Splendor in the Grass" and "Love with the Proper Stranger."
