Tesla Model S P100D Hits The Fastest Car On Acceleration Record With Its Ludicrous Mode

Tesla's Model S P100D is the fastest generation of auto on the planet, which runs on account of a Spaceballs-inspired software update. On Tuesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared on Twitter the record-breaking performance.

In a current Motor Trend test, the Model S P100D hit 0-60 mph in 2.275507139 seconds utilizing another Easter egg mode called Ludicrous+. It was the first time to broken the 2.3 seconds during the magazine's testing, which is more than the Tesla's guaranteed time of 2.5 seconds and quicker than the 2.389 second time recorded by the Tesla Racing Channel in January.

The supercar just recorded the fastest time ever for a production car to reach 60 mph, which makes this $150,000 electric car faster than the Porsches 911 Turbo S, Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 or Porsche 918 Spyder. The Motor Trend speeds up the clock on the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) way, which let the front tires cross the one-foot mark. This method also helps to prevent damage to the transmission from excessive shocks of acceleration.

The Tesla reveals that the higher speeds give the advantage to horsepower over instant torque. The Ferrari LaFerrari speeds up to 70 mph a tenth of a second quicker. The Porsche 918 and McLaren P1 pull ahead at 80 mph, and the hypercars keep on shooting ceaselessly at higher velocities.

The mystery as to why the Tesla is so brisk and quick, the answer is its electric engines and 100 kWh lithium-ion battery. The front wheels are packed with an engine producing the 259 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque while the back is driven by a bigger 503 horsepower and 525 lb-ft engine.

The Model S P100D's launch control mode is robust, which helps to cool off the engines using the aerating and air-conditioning system. It contributes to warm the batteries amongst every last raced to guarantee ideal speeding up.
