Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling Explain How They Found Out About Their Oscar Nomination

Hit musical La La Land has received 14 Oscar nominations. Two of which are for Best Actor and Best Actress with both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as top contenders in their respective categories.

According to Entertainment News, at the time of the Oscar nominations, Emma Stone was in Los Angeles while Gosling was in China promoting La La Land with the director Damien Chazelle. Gosling said that he heard a loud knock on his door late at night. It was Damien who announced the big news that he and Stone were honored as this year’s Performers of the Year.

Meanwhile Chazelle’s girlfriend Olivia Hamilton managed to get Emma Stone on the phone and immediately handed the phone to Gosling so they can celebrate with FaceTime. Emma recalls that Damien was in such a state that he doesn’t even know that his girlfriend called her. Chazelle also said that things weren’t really as wild as people think. They were all in their PJs celebrating the nomination. This isn’t the first movie that Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling starred together. In other films, they were just the supporting characters, but this time they have the whole film for themselves.

US Magazine reported that La La Land has a total of 14 Oscar nominations. Placing the movie in the same category with All About Eve and Titanic. The Oscar nominees Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling attended the SAG Awards where Stone took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
