Which NASCAR Drivers Appeared In Daytona 500's 2017 Super Bowl Commercial? [Video]

The Daytona 500 is a few weeks away before it holds its annual 500-mile-long motor race in Daytona Beach, Florida. Where else could its organizers perk up the interest of fans of the "Greatest American Race" but the Superbowl? Last Sunday, the commercial spot aired on Fox Sports during the match between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.

One of the race car drivers featured by the "Daytona Day" commercial is Danica Patrick who appeared in her 14th Superbowl television ad. Patrick is tapped to promote the Daytona 500. In the ad, Patrick is with other drivers walking on a platform through a crowd of NASCAR fans.

According to Nature's Bakery endorser, the spot serves as a reminder that the auto race is right around the corner. She explains why Fox needs to promote the Daytona 500 during the broadcast of the Super Bowl. She expresses her elation and over her inclusion in the ad. Patrick said in a statement, "I'm fortunate to have been in so many Super Bowl ads over the years."

Helmed by renowned music video director Joseph Kahn, the promo spot also features other professional stock car racing drivers including Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin. Also in the ad are Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola, and Brad Keselowski as well as Fox sports analyst Jeff Gordon.

The appearance of Truex and Hamlin pays homage to the 2016 race, which was the closest finish in Daytona 500 history. The commercial is backed with a "Daytona Day" jingle. "Dawson's Creek" alum James Van Der Beek has a cameo role in the 64-second Superbowl commercial where he pretends to film a movie based on the sporting event.

The Daytona 500 is set to take place on February 26. Watch the YouTube video below to view the Superbowl ad. Share your thoughts on the commercial in the comment section.
