Fittipaldi EF7: The New Supercar Designed By Emerson Fittipaldi

The famous and iconic Italian design house Pininfarina is designing a supercar for new manufacturer Emerson Fittipaldi. They would call the car EF7 Vision Gran Turismo. This car would also make its appearance on the famous Playstation game Gran Turismo.

As the teaser image released by Pininfarina shows huge wings of a car, beautiful skinny taillights, and a pretty raked roofline. It looks like a mid-engine car. However, there were just a small leaked details as of how the car looks. The tagline on the Fittipaldi website would give the biggest hint about what would be expected as it says, " A champions dream, German engineering, and Italian design."

The champion that they are referring to is Emerson Fittipaldi. A Brazilian driver who started his career in F1 in 1970 in a Lotus and went to becoming the team's  number one driver after five races. After that, he won the driver's  title in 1972 and at the age of 25 became the youngest F1 world champion. He then held that title until 2005 when Fernando Alonso won at the age of 24. Before he moved to McLaren, Fittipaldi won another F1 driver's championship in 1974.

At present, even at 70 Fittipaldi is still prominent in the motorsport and makes regular appearances at Goodwood. He is now busy directing his attention towards road cars.

Pininfarina would be responsible for the car's new design and the Italian coachbuilder for iconic Ferraris such as the 275GTB, F40, and Enzo. The engineering of the car would be handled by the German engineering company HWA which runs Mercedes DTM teams and Formula 3 engine supply.

No other details shared by the company or the designer. As press released revealed that Fittipaldi's major concern was to apply all the track knowledge gained by him in creating the new model.

After the Fittipaldi EF7 concept has been fully unveiled in March at the Geneva Motor Show by the name of Fittipaldi EF7 Vision Gran Turismo. The car will then be available for a drive in the latest Gran Turismo Playstation game.
