Square Enix has just announced some exciting updates and downloadable content (DLC) for "Final Fantasy XV". These developments were relayed by game director Hajime Tabata during an Active Time Report which was live streamed today.
The Japanese video game developer confirmed that there will be enhancements to the final stages of the game including Chapter 13. This update will be released on March 28. Square Enix's move attempts to address speculations that this section of the game was rushed.
Fans of FFXV have been discussing Chapter 13's problems since the launch of the open world action role-playing video game. Square Enix was accused of hushing up the chapter's important narrative threads without explanation. According to Tabata, Square Enix wants to resolve this issue by providing gameplay enhancements.
As translated by gaming website Gematsu, Tabata explained that the development team of "Final Fantasy XV" made a deliberate decision with regard to the direction of Chapter 13's content. He admitted that they failed to anticipate the amount of stress inflicted on the player while running through the chapter. The March update will resolve the issue by providing better gameplay experience.
Meanwhile, Square Enix is also introducing a new DLC episode that is focused on Gladiolus who is a companion of Prince Noctis and a party member in FFXV. This episode will be a continuation of the story of Gladio, who was not playable in the main story of the video game. Players will have the chance to enjoy fresh controls and will meet again "Final Fantasy" series familiar character Gilgamesh.
Before receiving the Chapter 13 overhaul and Episode Gladio, "Final Fantasy XV" has also other updates including a patch that will raise the level cap and add limited time hunts. Also, an update that will boost the game's frame rate and resolution on PS4 Pro is on the time table.
