The 2018 Hyundai Sonata Looks Sportier, Discards Conservative Look

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata will be facing another facelift when it debuts in the second half of 2017. The planned upgrading on the car is expected to boost sales and re-launch the 2018 Hyundai Sonata into the midsize car market.

TopSpeed reports that since the last modifications on the Hyundai Sonata in 2015, sales of the car in U.S. and Canada have gone down. Upgrading has to be done to improve on the conservative nature of the car.

No major changes will be done under the hood and the engine that will be installed will vary according to the model. The external changes to be done on the 2018 Hyundai Sonata will give it a fresh new look and make it more attractive to buyers.

The upcoming facelift for the Hyundai midsize car consists of modifications on the grille, newly designed fascias and exterior lamps that improve the external features. Improvements on the instrument panels and the interior of the car are expected together with marked upgrading on the car's infotainment system.

Hyundai will soon introduce the new 2018 Hyundai Sonata and officially announce the changes that the company is making on the new model. To give the car a much sportier look, changes in the front grills will be done.

In the new 218 Sonata, the grills look taller or mounted at a lower point at the center which changes the location of the Hyundai emblem. The slats of the grille will be much thinner, closer together and different from the previous model.

Hyundai is maintaining its engine lineup for the 2018 Sonata.  The 2.4liter regular four-cylinder engine powers the Sonata SE and Sonata Sport.  The 1.6-liter turbocharged engine is offered for the Sonata Eco and the 2.0-liter Turbo is installed in the Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T.

All units are front-wheel drive only and with the six-speed transmissions except for the 1.6-liter engine in Sonata Eco which has the seven-speed dual clutch unit. All these options and added features are expected to re-launch the 2018 Hyundai Sonata into the midsize car market.
