The 2017 Bolt EV from Chevrolet. The Bolt EV brought with it a future that appeals to the masses. It brought a future where electric cars are built for the masses and everything else but impossible.

The Bolt EV is not your typical electric vehicle prototype. In fact, it has enough power and range to cover a day's worth of errands. It is built for the average consumer for just the right price.

It sports a liquid cooled lithium-ion battery that is able to store 60 kilowatt-hours of power which is roughly the same as 1.8 gallons of gasoline. It boasts a range of 238 miles on just one charge as rated by the EPA. It makes 200 horsepower and 266 pound-foot of torque and has a single-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 7.0 seconds.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV, specifically the Bolt Premier which is a step higher than the base trim, features a 360-degree camera and a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, heated front and rear seats, roof rails, and blind spot monitoring. One can opt for an upgraded Bose audio system, additional USB ports at the rear, and wireless phone charging capabilities. A Driver Assistance package is also optional and includes lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection.

The Bolt EV sports a front-wheel drive system that provides excellent handling, the kind that you would expect from a high-performance and energy-efficient vehicle. It has a tight grip and responsive steering. Its interior is spaciously accommodating although its dash is mostly dominated by plastic. It has a dedicated digital instrument panel along with a 10.2-inch display touchscreen that provides EV-specific information. In addition, the Bolt EV features the Chevy MyLink Radio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and OnStar 4GLTE with a W-Fi hotspot.
