“Easy Rider” Peter Fonda Stars in Mercedes AMG GT Roadster Commercial For Super Bowl LI

Oscar awardee directors Joel and Ethan Coen made a funny commercial for the upcoming Super Bowl Ll featuring Mercedes AMG and the legendary Peter Fonda from "Easy Rider." The said project is an anniversary presentation from Mercedes-Benz.

In celebration of Mercedes AMG's 50th anniversary, the automaker came out with a commercial to pay tribute to the bikers and to show off the courageous Mercedes AMG GT Roadster. The commercial is reportedly a mix of humor and honor.

The commercial features the bikers' favorite desert place, "Tiny's" at Route 66 where Harley-Davidsons bikers and even local patrons hang out for a quick break. It begins with a biker trying to choose for a music to play from a Juke box. It was funny because the playlist shows all options to be just Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild."

As the music begins to play, the usual routines of the bulky Davidsons bikers were shown. Scenes showing how bikers greet each other, do arm wrestling, play billiards and playfully hit each other with their heads began flashing. Until one guy came in announcing "blocked in!" which made the bunch of riders inside that bar to get curious.

As the bikers went out to check what "blocked in!" means, they were surprised to see that a new Mercedes AMG GT Roadster was parked in front of the whole bunch of big bikes, blocking the way out. Then Peter Fonda, who played the role of Harley-hippie rider Wyatt from "Easy Rider," arrived in a cool manner, as if not causing any trouble with the way he parked his car, and drove the Mercedes AMG away from the bar.

The commercial ended with the phrases "Born to be Wild. Built to be Wild" and the new Mercedes AMG GT Roadster zooms its way past the Route 66 sign.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG chairman Tobias Moers has released a statement expressing their delight to have the new Mercedes AMG GT Roadster play a significant role in this year's Super Bowl LI. Moers pointed out the two goals of the new car, which are to provide "freedom" and "adventure" in the driving experience, Motortrend reported.

The upcoming Super Bowl LI will kick off on February 5. Football fans can spot the Mercedes AMG GT Roadster commercial during the fourth quarter of the game.
