Good News! Vizio's SmartCast Products Are Now Compatible With Google Home

One of Google Home's greatest advantages is its capability to cast content from Google Play Music, YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, and more to a TV or set of speakers by just using the human voice. But that function will not always work on every device.Today, Vizio has reported that all of its SmartCast products are now compatible with Google's voice command device.

Vizio Chief technology officer, Matt McRae, said in a statement, "Controlling Vizio SmartCast devices from Google Home is an important milestone for consumers and their ability to manage their entertainment experience. Using a simple voice command to stream a movie from Netflix to a Vizio display or stream music from Spotify to a group of Vizio speakers is an eye-opening experience, and shows off the power of Vizio SmartCast."

Vizio's SmartCast products will include TV's, home speakers, surround-sound system and soundbars. Price tags for the said devices are quite affordable. Soundbars price ranges around $130 while some smaller TV's that are refurbished models are priced as little as $215.

Google's new voice-activated speaker is powered by the Google Assistant. Equipped with Chromecast, all Vizio SmartCast devices will enable users to use their voice to control their entertainment devices.

Using only simple voice commands, users can easily adjust volume up and down, stop, play, and skip music tracks on any Google Home supported services. In addition, users can also turn on their displays by simply asking to play entertainment on their big screen when the Quick Start Power Mode function is enabled on their Vizio SmartCast TV.

The new upgrade of Vizio SmartCast also allows consumers to enjoy additional convenience through Google's voice control. To listen to a song on their Vizio SmartCast speaker and sound bar, users can simply say, "Ok Google" followed by the users chosen song request from Pandora, Spotify, Google Play Music and more.

Furthermore, consumers can also make use of the Vizio SmartCast app to convert their Android mobile devices or iOS into powerful touchscreens remotes for users have full control of their Vizio SmartCast devices. They can even use text or voice search to easily search and browse content across several apps at once. SmartCast is already available on most Vizio speakers and soundbars, recent P-series, M-series and E-series TV models.
