GMC Helps Tow In The Holidays At Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Approximately 50 million viewers will watch the 86th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City according to the parade's website. Among the marching bands, celebrities, and gigantic balloons will be 55 GMC trucks making sure every aspect of the parade goes according to plan.

"There couldn't be a better opportunity than the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for GMC to demonstrate its engineering and capability on a big stage," said Craig Bierley, director of GMC Advertising and Promotions in a press release issued by GMC. "This event, this holiday, and GMC all share a long and proud history of American tradition."

A number of different crossovers and SUVs will be used to tow floats for the 32nd consecutive parade and were lined up well before dawn earlier this morning.

Vehicles expected to be used in the parade includes 13 Sierra full-size pickups, two new 2013 Acadia Denali mid-size crossovers, and 40 Yukon and Yukon XL full-size SUVs.

GMC will share live updates and photos of the parade on its Twitter account and Instagram at @ThisIsGMC. The company said you can also expect more photos to be released later on in the day on GMC's Facebook account.

"We are extremely proud of our 32-year relationship with GMC that annually helps us present our magical floats to the nation," said Amy Kule, executive producer of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade according to the press release. "We look forward to the fleet of GMC's taking to the streets of New York City bringing with them Macy's amazing theatrical stages that together are set to dazzle millions of spectators."

GMC has produced vehicles since 1902 and has a respectable reputation due to its fuel-efficient vehicles like the Terrain small SUV and Sierra Heavy Duty pickups. The company is the only car manufacturer to date to offer three full-size hybrid trucks.
