2017 Ford Edge Review: The Goldilocks of Mid-size Crossovers and SUVs

The 2017 Ford Edge packs a lot of features in their standard models. It also has a great ride quality and puts a premium on fuel economy. This SUV is definitely worth checking out.

Pros and Features. The Ford Edge 2017 has an amazingly smooth ride quality. This definitely sets it apart from its competitors. The car also has plenty of space for luggage and passengers.

Another thing that makes it great is its fuel efficiency. It also has performance-oriented engines. Additionally, Ford has given it a lot of tech and luxury features.

Cons. The SUV's base engine is too sluggish for most drivers. In addition, its transmission has a slow reaction time occasionally.

What's New? There are no significant changes. The Ford Edge remains virtually the same this year.

Models. The 2017 Ford Edge is available in four different models: SE, SEL, Titanium, and Sport. The SE has standard features including 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, LED taillights, dual exhaust tips, and cruise control. The standard features are package and customization upgrades for other competing brands.

The SEL includes LED headlight accents, an exterior keyless entry pad, dual-zone automatic climate control, and other upgraded features. The SEL also has an Equipment Group 201A upgrade which adds leather upholstery, better audio system, and other tech upgrades.

The Titanium gets the upgraded package plus more like 19-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, and a better sound system. There are also some other interesting features like front sport seats and upgraded interior trim and ambient lighting.

The Sport has the Titanium's equipment roster plus a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine. It also comes with 20-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, unique styling, and other sporty details.

Pricing. The base model retails at $29,845. The SEL with upgraded features goes up to $41,080 while the Titanium with features goes up to $44,535.

Verdict. The 2017 Ford Edge is just right in terms of size, model choices, and features. A lot of the Edge's basic packages come as add-ons for most of its competitors. All in all, this Ford SUV is a great value and definitely deserves more attention.
