The 2017 Escape features the latest Sync 3 infotainment system. The new FordPass with Sync Connect help drivers locate the car on a parking lot, check fluid and fuel levels, pre-heat or pre-cool the interior, and communicate via voice calls, SMS, and even email. It also features Apple CarPlay.
Under the Escape's hood is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out 179 horsepower. However, one can always have a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine installed which provides 245 horsepower and 275 pound-foot of torque. The Escape has a six-speed automatic transmission that is responsive and quick. The Escape offers an extremely quiet and smooth drive and accelerates to freeway speeds just right.
The 2017 Ford Escape's base price is at US$24,495. However, it can retail to as much as US$31,745 with additional features.
The Ford Escape looks to remain as Ford's hottest-selling non-truck vehicle with the 2017 model. With the US market demand for vehicles having shifted from smaller cars to bigger ones due to low fuel prices and more buying power, the Escape's reliable reputation will definitely allow for its strong sales to continue.
