Porche's junior sports car 718 Cayman gets a major upgrade inside and out for their 2017 model. The German car manufacturer went beyond the usual yearly updates and treats everyone to an almost wholly new Porsche Cayman.

The 2017 718 Cayman got an updated yet still traditional fascia with revised headlights and taillights. In addition, it has new sheet metal stampings for its doors skins and all of its fenders. The interior has a redesigned upper dashboard, a new different-looking steering wheel, and an updated infotainment system with more connectivity options a wider range of compatible devices. Its chassis is completely re-tuned and the brakes get their own upgrade.
The new 718 Cayman now has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine. Previous models had a 2.7 -liter and 3.4-liter six-cylinder engines both of which are unexpectedly less powerful the current engine. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine can churn out 300 horsepower and 280 pound-foot of torque.
The 2.0 engine sounds unapologetically aggressive and quite sharp. Some Porsche enthusiasts, however, are finding it hard to embrace. Regardless, the new 718 Cayman is an amazing drive, being able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds. Going from 50 to 70 miles per hour takes only another 2.9 seconds for the 2017 718 Cayman.
The 2017 718 Cayman PDK Automatic leaves a better impression than its manual transmission variant. It apparently does not show any signs of turbo lag when going for a boost which involves the Sport Chrono package and PDK automatic transmission unleashing 20 seconds of power with just a push of a button.
The base model of the 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman retails at US$59,600. A few thousand dollars more affords you more features found in higher-end models.
