iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak Update: Experts Claim Unlock Coming Soon For iPhone 5, What Sites To Avoid (PHOTOS)

The iOS 6 untethered jailbreak will be coming soon for iPhone 5 users, experts just don't know when.

In a picture posted recently online by Chronic Dev, developers attempted to completely jailbreak the newest Apple smartphone and while it didn't complete fully, the photo showed that they were able to make progress.

In the picture, you can see a number of unauthorized gadgets on the iPhone that can only be accessed when a jailbreak is completed. The process was able to start for the first time since the phone was released, but didn't finish.

"I would characterize it more as finding the missing pieces rather than debugging at this stage," said Chronic Dev."Typically the messiest part of the jailbreak process has been installing it in the first place."

The site said the jailbreak itself is stable but they are "missing needed exploits" that they can't discuss at this time.

iDigitalTimes.com has reported scam sites being posted in regards to the jailbreak that people should avoid. The sites reported include redpoisOn.net and greenpois0nblog.blogspot.com, both of which claim untethered iOS 6 and 6.0.1 Jailbreak for the iPhone 5, 4s, 4, 3Gs and the iPad 2 and 3. iDigitalTimes.com urges people to avoid both sites or risk yourself losing a lot of money for nothing.

The first scam site they reported about was Absinthe/Greenpois0n.com which claims a number of things including untethered iOS 6 and 6.0.1 Jailbreak for all Apple products amongst other devices. The site since it has been proven untrustworthy by iDigitalTimes.com testers.

Testers found after clicking the "download" link that nothing happens at all, just a requirement of payment and no untethered jailbreak what so ever.

Many other site downloads may be available as well that look enticing because they don't require payment. Try to avoid sites like this for now, as there is a good chance they're just trying to give you a computer virus instead of actually being able to provide untethered jailbreak as promised.
