Deluxe Version of Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Switch Now Has Release Date

One good reason to be excited about Nintendo's newest gaming console is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The kart racing game featuring everyone's favorite Italian plumber will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2nd quarter this year.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Mario Kart 8 was released on the Wii U two years ago. It is the Wii U's best-selling game and actually sold over 8 million copies worldwide.

Considered a critical and commercial success when it was released on the last Nintendo gaming console, it is only fitting to have an updated and enhanced version of it on the new Nintendo Switch. Although Mario Kart 8 is the best-selling game on the Wii U, the Wii U is the worst selling Nintendo gaming console, not including any data on the Switch. This means that not a lot of people had actually experienced playing the kart racing game.

Enthusiastic gamers will be able to experience the joys of Mario Kart racing again. New ones will finally be able to play it. This, along with new maps, game modes, and characters, should be more than enjoyable.

Deluxe will be able to support up to 8 players on a local wireless game. There have been claims that the Deluxe will be playable on the Switch's portable monitors in split-screen mode. However, no official word has come out about this particular game feature. It could possibly be just a rumor that has spread out due to excitement for Deluxe and not likely an actual feature of the game.

Nintendo officially announced the price and release date of the Switch at a press event in Tokyo on January 13, 2017, along with the console's initial game lineup with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe being one of them. The Nintendo Switch retails at US$299.99 in the United States and is scheduled for a March 3, 2017 release. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be released on April 28, 2017.
