Snapchat New Design; Launches Universal Search

It is true that Snapchat is arguably one of the most popular apps to come out in 2016, but it's also a fact that its interface is lacking in easy-search ability. Snapchat announced that it is launching a new tool that is designed for efficiency and speed.

Snapchat has added a new search feature designed to make users easily gain followers. A universal search bar can now be seen at the top of the app and will always be accessible for any Snapchat related searches.

The new addition will allow users to chat with their friends and groups quickly, view and add new friends, and search for content. The new feature hopes to address issues some users currently have with the photo-sharing app, most likely the difficulty in finding new people to follow and gaining huge number of followers.

Snapchat said that if a user has searched for a person, it is possible to tap that person's Bitmoji card to start chatting. Once that person has sent a story, he or she has the ability to view the message directly from the Bitmoji card.

On the previous version of Snapchat, live stories were limited to location-specific events like breaking news, sporting events, and other planned events. Called "Our Story", Snapchat is also adding a new global live story where any user can contribute to at any time.

Snapchat's new update may not be as surprising as it is. After Snapchat bought mobile search startup Vurb last year, Snapchat has then made it easier for users to communicate with people they know and even improve the friend discovery process.

Snap Inc., the company behind Snapchat, has recently separated the app from its business teams. It expanded its London office from 75 staff.
