Can The 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve Compete With The Established Pickup Truck Brands?

The pickup truck market has always been dominated by established brands that have always been traditionally accepted.  The latest refurbished 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum has been designed to compete with Ford-150, Ram1500, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra. Actually, six brands dominate the pickup truck market, capturing four in every six sold in the U.S. Very few brands can compete with these legends.

The Honda Ridgeline and the Nissan Titan have been noted as having the potentials to compete. The Ridgeline has the power and the size but having a unibody to the minds of many does not place it in the pure pickup truck category despite is powerful V6 engine and 5,000-pound towing capacity.

This leaves the 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum as the best contender to join the ranks of super pickup trucks. It uses a 5.6-Liter V8, with 390 hp, 394 lb.-ft. of torque and a 7-speed speed transmission which gives the pickup a smooth ride and excellent maneuverability.

The Truth About Cars reports that the Nissan Titan sells at $39,005 and can be easily upgraded. The SV is priced $2,890 more and the Pro-4X is offered at $46,215. The SL is set at $50,000 while the Platinum Reserve with all its options can cost up to $56,595.

When the Nissan Titan was launched in 2003 as the 2004 model and it remained largely the same until the recent 2017Nissan Model was launched. In the meantime, two models of the F-150 and two types of the Chevrolet Silverado were launched and started gobbling up the pickup truck market.

Sales of the Nissan Titan were drastically reduced to a mere 12,140 units in 2015, equivalent to what the Ford F-series pickups sold in one week. With the improvement made on the Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve, Nissan hopes to recover and capture a niche in the pickup truck market.

The Nissan Titan has the needed power, the same as the Ram1500. It has excellent space in its double cab cabin and drives smoothly with excellent handling capability just like the F-150. Nissan Platinum has to offer a lot more to compete with the leading pickup trucks,
