Connect Samsung's Gear Smartwatch To An iPhone Now!

Over a year ago, Samsung announced that its latest line of Samsung Gear smartwatches would be compatible with Apple's iPhone. Finally, both can be paired with an easy-to-use iOS app.

Samsung Gear and the iPhone. First and foremost, users have to understand that only specific Gear and iPhone models are compatible with each other. The Gear S2, S3, and Fit2 will work just fine as long as it is paired with an iPhone 5 or higher running on iOS 9.0 or later versions.

In order for the Samsung Gear to successfully pair with an iPhone, an app must first be downloaded from the App Store onto the iPhone. There are two Samsung Gear iOS apps on the App Store, the Gear S and Gear Fit. The former is for connecting with a Gear S2 or S3 and the latter is for the Gear Fit2.

After downloading the Samsung Gear iOS app, ensure that it has been launched and the Gear is turned on. On the app, locate the Samsung Gear that needs to be paired then tap on it to confirm a connection. There are a few more taps that one needs to do such as agreeing to terms and an agreement before a connection is established. Once done with these steps, the Gear smartwatch should now be successfully paired with the iPhone.

If one would like to use the Gear to make and receive calls, a few taps on the iPhone's settings menu to manually connect the Gear to the iPhone via Bluetooth should do the trick.

The Gear iOS app allows a user to grab new apps and watch faces from the Galaxy Apps store. Users are also able to send music and images to the paired Gear, control notifications, sync health data with S Health, and locate the Gear if misplaced.
