2017 Mazda 3 Review: Classy, Entertaining, and Versatile

The 2017 Mazda 3 is a top choice for a compact car with a classy and updated look. It has a fun and entertaining design and a beautiful interior. It is a definite standout and is a very functional and reliable car to drive.

Pros and Features. One of the key highlights of the 2017 Mazda small sedan is its precise handling when going around turns. This car is ideal for driving around small and narrow roads with a lot of turns. In addition, the small sedan also features quick acceleration.

Cons. The small car's ride quality feels somewhat choppy with the optional 18-inch wheels. Additionally, compared to other competitor cars like the 2017 Honda Civic, the 2017 Mazda 3 has a less roomy interior and a not-so-sporty performance.

What's New? The Mazda 3 got a lot of updates for 2017. The front and rear fascias have been subtly restyled. The interior was given a new steering wheel, a new and improved dashboard design, additional standard equipment, and a bigger door storage pocket. There was also a new electronic parking brake added which freed up more center console space.

Mazda also incorporated G-Vectoring Control to the 2017 Mazda 3. This has greatly improved its handling. A new and retuned suspension also gives it a smoother ride.

Models. The compact car is available as either a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback. Both versions are available in four different models: Sport, Touring, Touring 2.5, and Grand Touring.

The base model Sport comes with 16-inch wheels, an adjustable driver seat, cruise control, and remote locking and unlocking. It also has a keyless ignition, a 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, and other techy features. There are also added packages available to improve the exterior and interior features.

The Touring model has all of the features of the Sport's Preferred Equipment package plus 18-inch alloy wheels, low-speed forward collision warning and mitigation, automatic climate control, and premium vinyl upholstery. It also has its own upgrade packages available for better interior features.

The Touring 2.5 is available in hatchback only and has the same features as the standard touring. It sports a more powerful engine and has an added sunroof. The Grand Touring gets the Touring's Popular Equipment package plus other extras including LED fog lights, a more powerful engine, and a digital speedometer.

Pricing. The Basic model Sport 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $20,730. The Well-Equipped model Touring 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6M) has an MSRP of $22,780. The Fully-Loaded model Touring 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $23,830.

Verdict. The Mazda 3 is a real crowd favorite. It drives well, has a nice interior, and looks great on the outside. It also has superb safety features and is a very fun small sedan to have.
