2018 Mercedes-AMG GLA45 Debut, Remarkable Upgrades Revealed at 2017 Detroit Auto Show

Mercedes-Benz had a number of gorgeous models to show off at the Detroit Motor Show. None was quite as astonishing as the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLA45.

The all-new AMG GL45 4MATIC received a glorious facelift along with some more enhancements for a better performance, comfort, and of course, style. It just got a huge upgrade on the front and rear bumper.

This beauty also has a roof spoiler and reduced wind resistance. Compared to the outgoing model, the 2018 AMG GLA 45's bodywork produces only 0.33 of cd value. Those new panels are not just for style, as well. They are built with new air intake grilles and a silver chrome front splitter insert. Not to mention the high-gloss black flics.

What's under the hood? Just a 2.0-litre turbo engine which delivers 381 horsepower. The torque goes as much as 475 nm. It goes without saying that this car is not only a beauty - it is a heck of a beast as well. It is already one of the most powerful cars showcased at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.

It can go from 0 to a 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, putting it behind world-class sports cars. The limited top speed is 250 km/h. The car's performance is also expected to improve due to the fact that AMG had put a shorter ratio to the AMG Speedshift DTC 7-speed transmission.

Response and shift times have also been improved, giving riders a better transition upon upshifting. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLA45 will still be available on an all-wheel drive system. The lighting also got an upgrade to LED High-Performance headlamps.

Buyers can choose between the optional multi-spoke 20-inch light alloy wheel which comes in either matte black or titanium gray finish. As for the interior, it has also been treated to a variety of cool new features.

The standard seat covers are now from ARTICO man-made leather with exclusive stitching - a luxurious option. A brand new number design has also been given to the instrument cluster. The speedometer will look a bit different, too, with it being divided into 30 km/h stages.

There will also be some optional equipment such as the keyless vehicle access, a cool, new 360-degree camera, and a foot control rear boot access. The AMG Dynamic Plus package will also include a locking front axle differential and AMG ride control suspension and a performance steering wheel.

On the other hand, the Night package is also available and includes upgrading the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 with 18-inch bichromatic lightweight alloy wheels black roof rails, black shoulder line trim strip and high-gloss black radiator louvers. Naturally, both front and rear bumpers are painted in high-gloss black as well as an exterior mirror housing. The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC is available to order from January 9, 2017.
