2018 Kia Stinger GT Debuts Twin Turbo V6 Engine With 365 Hp

Kia finally reveals the 2018 Kia Stinger GT, a sports sedan with rear wheel drive, twin turbo V6 engine and can produce 365hp. It will debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show and will be based on the same platform as the Genesis G80.

The 2018 Kia Stinger GT is a sort of Gran Turismo sedan that has a size that places it among the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The new Stinger GT is said to be the most powerful performance-based model of KIA to date, and the most luxurious too.

It was at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show that Kia first hinted of its intention to completely turn the positioning of its range and launch a rear-wheel-drive sports sedan with the unveiling of the GT concept, according to MotorAuthority. Design and power will be the keys to this transformation and today, people can now see the result of Kia's effort through the 2018 Kia Stinger GT.

By positioning, the 2018 Kia Stinger GT in the D segment of the sports sedan will not have too many rivals in the market. However, it can also shine as the Korean model is larger by size and more powerful than most versions in that segment and compared to the traditional options, it will certainly be very far off in price.

The 2018 Kia Stinger GT will have a 3.3 - liter V6 twin - turbo engine that delivers 370 hp and maximum torque of 510 Nm, according to Jalopnik. Associated exclusively with an automatic change of 8 transmissions, the logical transmission option is for the vast majority of potential customers, so there will be no manual option. Its features are more striking, as one will be able to achieve 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 244 km / h. It has a limited slip differential, so expect a great dynamic behavior.

The brand has already confirmed that the range of 2018 Kia Stinger GT will be complemented by a smaller version, which will have an engine of 4 cylinder gasoline with about 255 hp. At the moment, there are no confirmed diesel options but people should stay tuned. The 2018 Kia Stinger GT will hit the market in late 2017.
