The 2017 Kia Picanto Third Generation Will Run Geneva International Motor Show In March

Kia Picanto will be officially revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show that will be underway later in March. The Southern Korean automaker has started the year introducing its next third generation of Picanto which shares its styling cues with its sibling.

The updated features show an aggressive front fascia and retain the signature Tiger nose grille. It has a slimmer headlight and C-shaped tail light and rounded corners. The company also reveals a GT variant which is equipped with a sportier bumper and red headlights. Picantos overall length has remained the same while they stretched the wheelbase by 15 mm longer.

As much as the engine specifications concerned, the company did not reveal the powerhouse details but it is likely offering both in petrol and diesel engines. It might also get one 1.0-liter turbocharged option with 99 hp power rate.

Inside the 2017 Kia Picanto comes with a large spoke steering wheel and the vertical aircon vents that flank the dashboard. At the center of the dashboard, there is a touchscreen infotainment system such as Apple CarPlay.  It also has a new dual-pod instrument along with a new multi-info display that owner can enjoy.

As for trim and upholstery, the carmaker added that customers can also choose a wide range of colors to further personalize their Picanto and to appeal the youth market. The new generation Picanto will have more cabin and cargo spaces as Kia also explained.

Kia has confirmed that the new Picanto has shorter overhangs and a longer wheelbase to look sportier in style. It also has higher levels of available personalization including a contrasting color trim on exterior and interior.

Likely, it will follow the numerical trim levels of other car models with one being the entry level car and five being the range topper. Kia Motors Australia media and corporate communications manager Kevin Hepworth confirmed that the new Picanto will be a technologically advanced vehicle.
