Nintendo 3DS Online Services Will Be Down For Maintenance - Every Nintendo Deals & Discounts This January

Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed its 3DS online services will temporarily shut down for some maintenance next week. According to the Nintendo Maintenance Information page, their services will go down on January 9, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM PST.

As expected, online play rankings and other network services will become unavailable on users' Nintendo 3DS system. Gamers are also made aware that maintenance time can take a bit longer than anticipated.

There is no further information provided on Nintendo's maintenance information page. However, it is a widely-known fact that users are to avoid using their 3DS online services during maintenance hours to avoid any issues.

On the other hand, January 2017 is a much awaited month for Nintendo gamers. The Japanese company is kicking off the year with plenty of discounts for their fans.

Nintendo's January discount sale gives players the rare opportunity to purchase game titles. The discounted games are posted on Nintendo's website for both North America and Europe.

This time, however, there will be no free games or themes this time around. The good news is, there will be discounts for both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. This means buyers can claim Gold and Platinum Points for this special occasion.

For those who are looking to earn more Platinum Points, it can be done by logging onto Nintendo's website (Nintendo.com). Users are advised to head on over to Nintendo eShop and check the Miiverse. This is another brilliant way to earn Platinum Points aside from purchasing new game titles.

According to WWG, Gold Coins can also be earned by spending money. Gamers can receive 15% off of Yoshi's Woolly World for Platinum Points (Wii U). Kirby's Epic Yarn is also on 20% off sale for 400 Platinum Points (Wii U).

For Nintendo 3DS, gamers can get Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe at 30% off (20 Gold Points). Yoshi is also on 30% off discount for only 20 Gold Points (3DS orn Wii U). These games are for users residing in North America, and will be on sale until April 2, 2017. For Europe sales, check them out here.
