Qualcomm Announces Their New Project, Drive Data Platform For Cars

Qualcomm is known as the world leader in Third Generation (3G) wireless telecommunication technology and for next-generation mobile phones. Qualcomm these days is just everywhere, and searching for the other possibilities and ideas to make new innovations to bring today's technology into a higher level.

The company plans to launch an innovative and detailed Drive Data platform for cars with the use of the latest processor called Snapdragon 820Am. This platform reportedly has the capability collecting an insane amount of data with the use of a huge array of different sensors to determine car, road, and driver condition and probably it includes also the environmental condition in real-time.

What makes it more interesting is looking into what could be done with the data that has been collected, and how it will affect or benefited the automotive industry. With the use of this platform, drivers can directly and easily get information such as speed, GPS positioning and it can even determine vehicles exact location by gathering environmental data.

Qualcomm also plans to include radar systems for an additional interesting helpful feature. With the use of radar system, it uses radio waves to allow car drivers determine easily detects the range and velocity of other vehicles around them.

Drive Data Platform needs a lot of time to be accomplished. Using different experimental ideas that might bring so many failures during the development but Qualcomm integrates and incorporates with different car makers companies to exchange ideas in order to finish this platform in shorter time.

This project of Qualcomm might help all car companies to monitor their vehicles for them to ensure car owner's safety. For example, there is a coming bad weather in a certain location and by directly gathering the environmental data; all drivers will be notified easily and quickly by their own cars. This might also help track losing cars in a shorter time without any further procedure.
