Faraday Future reveals their prototype electric-powered crossover vehicle on the first day of CES 2017. The unveiling happened during a press event at The Pavilions in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 4, 2017.

The Faraday Future FF91. Losing two top-level executives before the end of 2016 wasn't enough to stop Faraday Future in starting 2017 with a bang. During a press event on the first of CES 2017, Faraday Future introduced the FF91, a prototype fully electric crossover. The Faraday Future FF91, according to designer Richard Kim, is a luxury electric SUV that will feature the latest in cutting-edge technology when it goes into production next year.

Features of the Faraday Future FF91 include the biggest electric drive system at 130 kW, the greatest range at a minimum of 700 km using the EPA's protocol, and a power output of 783 kW. To support the FF91, Future Faraday is working on a charging strategy to open across all networks at 1.5, 10, and 15 kW power levels. The fastest possible DC charging will most likely operate at 200 kW.

Since the FF91 requires a lot of traction in order to get power to the ground, it has optional all-wheel-drive by way of multiple motors which gives torque vectoring at the rear. Also at the rear is wheel-steering for added mobility. Due to the FF91 stability and traction control, it is able to reach speeds of 60 miles per hour in just 2.39 seconds. This gives the FF91 serious advantage even over the Tesla Model X P100D.

The design of the FF91 is that of a long, low, futuristic sports utility vehicle with a large interior. It will not have any door handles as doors are expected to open automatically when the driver approaches. Apart from the dashboard, holograms will be projected on the windshield to notify drivers of the important car and driving information.

Faraday Future insiders say that the FF91 will most likely retail at US$180,000. The company is reportedly accepting reservations for a fee of US$5,000.
