2018 Jeep Wrangler First Look As Production Starts In November

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is coming soon. A recent interview with the president of the United Auto Workers Local 12, Bruce Baumhower revealed that production will start on November. In the meantime, check out the new Jeep Wrangler video below.

A local newspaper in the United States, The Toledo Blade, published an interview with Bruce Baumhower, president of United Auto Workers Local 12 wherein details of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler were revealed. Baumhower also disclosed that the testing and development of the new generation of the iconic SUV is already in its final phase and production will begin before the end of this year.

The new Wrangler will be manufactured at the Toledo Assembly Complex where the current generation of Wrangler and other Jeep models like the Cherokee were also being manufactured. According to Carscoops, Baumhower mentioned that the production of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler will start November, seven months after the brand ends production of the Jeep Cherokee. This is because the facilities and the assembly line of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler needs to adapt and therefore the Jeep will have to make major adjustments including the relocation of the Cherokee production to its Illinois plant. The current generation of the Wrangler will continue to be manufactured at the plant with a work shift that will vary between six and seven days a week, according to TFLCar.

Moreover, it is expected that the current Jeep Wrangler remains in production until March 2018 so there will be a few months that the old generation and the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will coexist. Once the new one is introduced, the pick-up variant of the new Wrangler will then follow. Additionally, it won't be a surprise if Jeep plans to launch a whole series of special editions as well.

As for the look of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, if one would look at the spy photos that have been published in recent months, it is clear that the design is revolutionary while the brand tries to maintain its iconic image. The technological and mechanical aspects also have major changes which resulted to a more advanced and efficient Wrangler.

The presentation of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is still unknown but since production will start November, it will probably just be a few months from now before the new Wrangler will be unveiled to the public. For now, check out the 2018 Jeep Wrangler first look here.
