However, Honda still remains the leader with its Clarity Fuel Cell, which can go for 366 miles without recharging. The Hyundai Fuel Cell SUV uses hydrogen-powered fuel cells and needs hydrogen refueling after reaching its maximum mile range.
The second generation Hyundai Fuel Cell SUV will be the successor of Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell SUV of 265 miles. This vehicle has almost zero emission since the combination of hydrogen and oxygen does not have by-products that can be considered as pollutants. Despite its being a second generation model, it is a considered as an entirely new vehicle that has the looks of a CUV and SUV combined, according to Motor Trend.
Prior to the release of the second generation Hyundai Fuel Cell SUV, the Korean Company will release its fuel cell electric bus which can be considered as a green vehicle. With the refined technology used, the bus has improved speed and can have 360 mile range within the city. Its cell-powered bus will be the company's response to Toyota's rumored plan to build a commercial bus with the same features, according to Engadget.
Slated to be released in time for the Winter Olympics 2018 to be held in South Korea, the second generation Hyundai Fuel Cell SUV will be showcased to visitors in the said event from several countries around the world. This move is expected to boost the sales of the said vehicle in the international markets. While the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell was marketed to car fleets, this one will be sold to individual customers, according to Green Car Reports.
