2017 Audi Q8 Concept To Be Unveiled At 2017 Detroit Auto Show; Will The BMW X7 Be Pushed Aside? [VIDEO]

The 2017 Audi Q8, Audi's response to the BMW X7, is slated to have its debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show on Jan. 2017. The 2017 Audi Q8, developed around the concept of elegance and spaciousness, is expected to arrive at the market in 2018. The Q8 will serve as the leading force of the Q line of Audi.

Just like any other Sports Utility Vehicles, the 2017 Audi Q8 is designed to evoke prestige and sportiness. Built a little bit wider and longer than its predecessor, the Q7, the 2017 Audi Q8 has a capacity of 4 despite its deceptively flat roof. Some features used to be seen in the Ur-quattro model of the 1980s such as the flat but wide pillar and shoulders that flared just above the wheels. The vehicle will target markets in countries where big SUVs are in demand like China, the Middle East and the U.S., according to Automotive News.

The design suggests that the 2017 Audi Q8 will have a drive system of the Q7 e-tron which is a hybrid car and will adopt the moniker Q8 e-tron. It will be powered by a 270 hp 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine with an electric motor of 126hp. There are speculations that an engine fuelled by petrol similar to the 4.0-liter V8 engine of the SQ7 producing 435hp will be made available for those who prefer high performance and more action, according to Car Wow.

While only the concept car will be presented at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, 2017 Audi Q8 makers believe that it will give viewers a taste of how riding the SUV will feel. The production car will bear a very close resemblance. Makers of the SUV believe that it will draw more customers than the other car models they built, according to Car Magazine.

With its stylish exterior and luxurious interior, the 2017 Audi Q8 has a big shot at being the leader among SUVs in the future, despite its quite hefty price of around $70,000.
