2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible Now Shown In Google Results, More Ford Leaks Coming

Just this week, Ford surprised the auto world with a page in their website about the new Shelby GT500. Now the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible is also showing in Google results, and it seems that more Fords leak are coming as the 2017 Detroit Auto Show looms.

A few days ago we reported a possible error, or an intended teaser, that could confirm the arrival of the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, a possibility that has been awaited by fans for months. When people search for the new Shelby GT500, the title "2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 | The Cobra of Performance Cars" will appear. Unfortunately, when one clicks on it, it only goes to the page on which the version of the current Mustang V6 is located.

Days after, Ford stopped using that url and the title was changed back to the original, but today we have been surprised to find that again we find the same mistake. But now the convertible word is visible as it says 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 Convertible, according to MotorAuthority.

This suggests that a convertible version of the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 is in the works and may even be presented soon. But like the previous leak, when one clicked on the Google results, it goes to the current GT500 convertible and not a new one.

The last time Ford used the name GT500 was with the Shelby GT500 Super Snake 2013, the model remained in production until 2015 and remains the most powerful version to date sold by Ford. Now the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500, which could have 671 hp or 862 hp depending on the package chosen, will be the most powerful.

Unlike the current GT350 and GT350R, more oriented to track and therefore with models like the 911 GT3 in his sights, the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 is the most muscular variant on the traditional model. This would allow it to have a convertible variant.

In terms of mechanics, the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 is said to have a supercharged V8 version of Voodoo that has been use with the current GT350. A 5.2-liter block and crossplane type crankshaft,  in the GT500 will receive the name V8 Predator. However, when the url is discovered with the name of the GT500, on the same page code appeared the keyword "Shelby GT500 5.8-liter 8 engine" data describing precisely the mechanics of the previous GT500, the engine V8 Trinity 5.8 liters, and 671 hp, according to DailySunKnoxville.

For now, what is certain is that in a few weeks we will get to know the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 at the Detroit Auto Show. Watch out for more leaks as it comes closer.
