2018 Lamborghini Urus With V8 Engine, But No More Brutal Design, Spotted?

The 2018 Lamborghini Urus will be the first SUV of the brand this decade, and it has received a lot of attention with its awesome styling. But this week, a possible test mule of the 2018 Lamborghini Urus has been spotted looking like it will mount the supercharged four-liter V8 engine, which is incredibly powerful, but drop its brutal design in favor of a more family-friendly look.

The 2018 Lamborghini Urus is the most anticipated car of the the decade for Lamborghini. The new Lamborghini SUV and second SUV in its history, after the Lamborghini LM002, will arrive in 2018 if its deadlines are met.

After months without news, rumors are now beginning to arrive that the 2018 Lamborghini Urus will not take after the stylish concept that was initially presented. The production model will be almost flat in favor of a more conventional, family-friendly SUV, as reported by CarBuzz when a test mule of the possible Urus was spotted.

Luckily, it seems that this may not be the 2018 Lamborghini Urus, according to RoadandTrack, and is just the work of a German dealer who disguised an Audi Q7 to use as a promo vehicle. So what will the 2018 Lamborghini Urus looks like?

At first we thought the design would be based on the Lamborghini Huracán and the Lamborghini Aventador, but Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Lamborghini, said in an interview that the 2018 Lamborghini Urus would be a real Lamborghini. This means that the steering wheel, even with a driver's eyes closed, would immediately be perceived as a Lamborghini; but, it will have something special to target the family range as well as the female range.

In terms of mechanics, the rumors are also varied. First it was reported that the V10 engine of the Hurricane would be used, modified for the occasion. Later it was rumored a plug-in hybrid version would power the car at around 600 CV. Now it is said that the supercharged V8 four-liter will be used in the 2018 Lamborghini Urus.

If this is true, the 2018 Lamborghini Urus will be the first V8 engine in the range. This would have a transmission with torque converter, which Lamborghini assured is the only gearbox that can grant the levels of torque needed for a vehicle of this caliber. Only time will tell what the final engine is, but it seems that the 600 hp is 100 percent sure.

Later, the 2018 Lamborghini Urus could mount a fully electric version inherited directly from Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro Concept. The 2018 Lamborghini Urus is closer than ever, and will surely be born with the clear objective of stealing sales from Maserati Levante or Bentley Bentayga.
