2017 Ferrari 488 Challenge Car Debuts At the 'Finali Mondiali'

The 2017 488 Challenge race car has been unveiled at the "Ferrari Mondiali" in Daytona which will replace the 458. The big difference to its predecessor, is it will be the first turbo charged racing car of Ferrari. in addition work done on aerodynamics highlighting the huge rear wing is another major update.

One of the major objectives of Ferrari over the last two years were to complete the full implementation of the 2017 Ferrari 488 GTB as a replacement for Ferrari 458 Italia. It was first in dealerships, but in terms of competition this relay began in early 2016 with the debut of the Ferrari 488 GTE in the World Endurance Competition (WEC). At the same time, Ferrari also released the Ferrari 488 GT3, parallel development model with less aggressive aerodynamics and is eligible to compete in competitions like the GT Blancpain Series. Now it finally concludes with the presentation of the 2017 Ferrari 488 Challenge.

The premiere of the 2017 Ferrari 488 Challenge took place in the 'Finali Mondiali'. The Ferrari event that closes the season with various activities taking part in official pilots and users that are part of their F1 program. This time, the 'Finali Mondiali' took place in an iconic scene as Daytona as reported by MotorSport, so the presentation of the 488 Challenge had never been in a better place.

Although Ferrari did not give further details about the 2017 Ferrari 488 Challenge, it is logical to think that this model maintains the DNA of the production version and also the GT3 version of the Ferrari 488. This means that under the hood lurks a V8 engine Biturbo 3.9 - liter with a power that is defined , as in version GT3 was limited to about 550 horses, while in the variant GTE version of this engine with 4.0 liter engine that yields between 485 was used and 500 hp according to Racer.

The great advantage of 2017 Ferrari 488 Challenge is that it is intended for a single - brand glass organized by the Italian brand, so the technical regulation is not as strict. Thus, it is likely that the 488 Challenge can offer a figure of close or identical to the 670 hp version of street power, although aerodynamically is one step behind the GTE and GT3 variants.
