Last Monday, Andrew Cuomo, New York State Governor, signed the bill that requires all vehicles to include, in their annual vehicle inspection, the front side and the driver's window tint. It must have 70 percent light passage, else, their vehicle will fail inspection and will not be able to receive an inspection sticker until corrected. According to NYS Department of Motor Vehicles, they are now planning all the necessary actions to implement this new policy starting January 1.

Another reason is for the safety of our traffic officers. Traffic officers should be able see what is inside the car. Or if there is something not quite good happening inside the car, like for instance, the car owner have abducted somebody. The law will also aid the enforcers if the driver has a gun before it's too late for the officer to see. According to the GlobeandMail.com, the front side windows, when smashed are like the size of a fingernail, but when applied by tints, it will not break correctly and shattered into large sharp projectiles that can injure someone when crashed.
