Based partly on insight and mostly on jokes from "Outlast" gamers that the first installment of the Red Barrels Studio's survival-horror title was scary enough to make players wet themselves, or worse, the studio created the perfect solution.

In a Kickstarter project they created to help fund "Outlast 2," Alison Wilkes, Red Barrels' head of market research, unveiled a high-tech adult diaper designed specifically by the studio for future players of the super-scary sequel. The diaper for "Outlast 2" players is, indeed, a real product, called "Underscares" by Red Barrels Studio. Interested gamers can receive both a diaper and a streaming key for "Outlast 2" for a minimum of $55. A deluxe pair can also be availed of for $75, according to Nerdist.

The Kickstarter project aims to amass pledges totaling $40,000 by Dec. 8, and as of writing, it has neared the halfway mark at $18,540 from 242 different people, with one week left to its goal. The project has been tagged as "All or Nothing," meaning it will be funded only if it achieves its goal. The stylish diaper, complete with the Outlast 2 logo, has features like an "Ultra-Mesh Sewage Suppressor" butt grid, "Liquid-Lock" elastic thigh portals, a "Middle Morph" stretch waistband and "Midnight Brownout" abrasian resistant fabric. In its video reveal of the product, Wilkes describes it as reaching the "pinnacle of diaper technology."

It is the Deluxe Edition, however, that really features some surprisingly useful, innovative elements, such as a "Lilwuss" wearable night light to ward away the chills, and a "Fatasp Flavour-Ready" drink pocket. It also includes "Middle Morph" reinforced waist support, for the ultra "Outlast 2" gaming experience. According to GamenGuide, "Outlast 2" was originally slated for a release late this year. However, Red Barrels pushed back the first-person shooter zombie game to 2017. No specific date has been announced by the company.
