Automakers are set to flood the market with plenty of their latest cars in 2017.
One of them is the South Korean automobile company, Hyundai, who is planning to launch two more cars according to CarDekho.
The first of the confirmed two will be the 2017 Grand i10, which is set to be released in January. The car has been spied testing in India, but was under camouflage. The new hatchback is expected to be inspired from the UK-spec car with no heavy changes in design. Only the new cascading grille and fresh front and rear bumpers are assumed to be its highlights, along with its LED DRLs.
Visually, its interior is set to feature an all-black, all-blue, and red-and-black colour scheme with plush leather upholstery. Mechanically, the said model will derive its power from the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder VTVT petrol and 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel engines. Its petrol mill is also capable of generating 81bhp against 114Nm and its diesel mill is good for 70bhp and 160Nm, according to Deccan Chronicle.
Another car model confirmed for Hyundai's 2017 plans will be the next/new-generation Hyundai Verna, which is expected to come out mid-year of 2017.
It is said to feature ISG stop-start technology. The model has been carved out from the Verna concept, which was first unveiled at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition in April. The upgrades they made on its interior design and control layout includes a new triple-slat and more prominent grille, revised front bumper and fog lamps, new alloy wheels, dual barrel reflectors, modified taillights, and lots of chrome.
In terms of mechanics, the India-bound 2017 Hyundai Verna will continue to house existing powertrains --- 1.4-liter, 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4-liter, 1.6-litre diesel. If reports also turn out to be true, the saloon could also get an all-new 120bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Similar to the current model, the new Verna will come with three gearboxes as well --- a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 4-speed automatic.
Among other car models expected to be unveiled between 2017 and 2019, but has not been confirmed yet, are the EON facelift, Tucson 4x4, Carlino Compact SUV, All-New Santro, and Elite i20.
