Google Nexus 7 Release Date Set For End Of 2016 [VIDEO]; Rumored Specs & Price Revealed

If latest rumors are anything to go by, gadget freaks who have been restlessly waiting for Google to announce the Nexus 7 release date, specs, and other details are likely to have their hopes dashed yet again.

It was earlier speculated that Google may be on the verge of getting rid of its Nexus branding. In other words, the purported Nexus 7 may not even see the light of day, if these rumors proved to be true.

But fret not; latest reports hint an imminent Google Nexus 7 release date announcement.

Apparently, the search giant has vaguely announced the official Google Nexus 7 release date --- hinting that the highly anticipated device will hit the stores in Q1 of 2017. Offering a genuine Android experience, the Google Nexus 7 is said to be manufactured by HTC as Huawei reportedly shunned the job of designing the next Nexus. Other rumors suggest that the Google Nexus 7 release date is set for the end of 2016.

Here are everything rumor mills have been churning around the purported Google Nexus 7 release date, specs, and features:

The Google Nexus 7 is said to pack an all-powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The device will also have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD.

It will boast a 7-inch display with 1440 X 2560 resolution, making it a QHD device, TechRadar reported.

The Nexus 7 will be running a cutting edge combination of Chrome OS and as the Android platforms dubbed, Andromeda, according to PC Advisor. However, this seems quite unlikely --- considering that Andromeda is rumored to be compatible with laptops instead.

Nevertheless, it is expected to pack an array of awe-inspiring features and upgrades like retina scanners. Moreover, Google is likely to oust the headphones in the new device, following the trend of some leading smartphones today.

The Nexus 7's bounty lies mainly within the hardware and software, including a fingerprint scanner and an alternative keyboard accessory.

The new Google Nexus 7 is expected to bear a price tag of $330.
