MacBook Air 2017 Release Date Set? Rumors Run Rampant [VIDEO]

Apple unveiled its highly anticipated iPhone 7 at its Oct. 27 event; however, the Cupertino-based tech firm remained tight-lipped about a few equally anticipated devices including the MacBook Air 2017.

Even in the absence of an official announcement, rumors of the new Apple MacBook Air 2017 release date are rife. While optimistic MacBook fans believe that the sought-after laptop will hit the store shelves in near future, some speculate that Apple will get rid of its entire MacBook Air lineup.

The speculation stems from the fact that Apple refrained from even mentioning the MacBook Air at its recently concluded iPhone 7 launch event. However, contrary to these speculations, some recently surfaced reports confirm that MacBook Air 2017 release date is just around the corner.

The much awaited MacBook Air 2017 is said to be most cost-effective Mac laptop. Renowned for its long battery life, the new laptop in the Air series will also pack a robust battery that will be able to provide a backup of 12.5 hours, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The MacBook Air 2017 will sport a couple of USB ports, an SD card slot, a keyboard and a thunderbolt. However, there is no word so far on MacBook Air 2017's specs.

One of the main reasons for some believing that the Air range will be discontinued is the arrival of the latest MacBook Pro which simply outshines it precursors in all aspects. It's worth noting that Apple has already canceled the 11-inch MacBook Air line.

Regardless of these reports, some tech pundits are suggesting that Apple MacBook Air 2017 is slated to undergo a radical overhaul. Moreover, Tech Radar recently pointed out that Apple has filed a new patent for a touchscreen keyboard that will replace the physical keyboard in the upcoming MacBook Air.

But that's not all; the purported MacBook Air 2017 is said to receive a faster processor, a major RAM upgrade, and a higher resolution display.

Readers are advised to bear in mind that these are mere speculations and Apple has not announced MacBook Air 2017 officially. Basically, these speculations should be taken with a huge grain of salt.
