2017 Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport Debuts at LA Auto Show With 365hp And Luxurious Look

The premium division of Hyundai, the Genesis, unveiled the 2017 Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport, a performance-focused variant of the G80 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It has an impressive 365hp, acquires new mechanical setups and has an over luxurious look wanting to lure fans of the brand to choose it and catapult it as a luxury brand.

In its exterior, the 2017 Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport 3.3T leaves clear its intentions with a much more aggressive front, which now has an air inlet thick black grid in its lower area and a central grill thick fabric, completely finished in black color. It has new 19-inch wheels with thicker tires, side skirts marked with an inner molding metallic finish. And in the back, we find more aggressive bumpers also embracing the four new oval exhaust outlets. This sporty version will be available exclusively in a short range of body colors, including white Polar Ice.

The new engine of the G80 Sport is a V6 3.3-liter twin-turbo capable of delivering 369 hp and 510 Nm of torque. This is associated with the eight-speed automatic transmission, which for the occasion has been specially tuned to provide a sportier response. Depending on the brand, the new G80 Sports 3.3T also has improved braking section, with larger ventilated discs and a revised suspension, according to Motor Authority.

Inside, the 2017 Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport has fine leather upholstery, both in seats and steering wheel, as well as elements in microfiber or aluminum, such as sports pedals. There is also the option of having carbon fiber inserts, according to Auto Car.

The complete 2017 Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport range will be in showrooms by spring 2017. Pricing hasn’t been announced but the starting figure is expected to be around $43,000. Watch the G80 Sport at the LA Auto Show here.
