Ferrari 250 GTO, The World's Most Expensive Car At $55 Million Each

Meet the world's most expensive car, the 3 Ferrari 250 GTO that sells for more than a whopping $55 million.

In this day and age, it is easy to think that the world's most expensive car should be the most advanced when it comes to design, features and technologies embedded in its system. But surprisingly, a sturdy classic took the crown and here are the reasons why.

First and foremost, this specific car is a classic. It is expected to become the world's most expensive car when it is put up on sale. This is mainly because of the limited units developed, there were only 36 units of Ferrari 250 GTOs made in 1962.

Second, the classic model also boasts of what most cars claim to provide, speed. Despite its ripe age of 50 years, the car that was raced at the La Mans and Serbring managed to run from 0 to 60mph in just six seconds. The Ferrari 250 GTO also has a maximum speed of 170mph that can even put its younger competitors into shame.

For the first time in 20 years, the public may have the chance to own one of these classics. John Collins, a Ferrari specialist who is selling a Ferrari 250 GTO for $56 million, presented a Ferrari with the above-mentioned specs to the market.

"I've been looking for a 250 GTO for a while and the opportunity came up with this one, which is the second GTO built," the Ascot-based Ferrari specialist said in an interview. "It is a beautiful Ferrari, the Holy Grail of classic cars, and it has a great racing history having finished sixth overall at Le Mans and first in class at Sebring," Collins added.

The interesting part is that, due to the popular demand, the price tag may even go higher since Ferrari enthusiasts are expected to bid over the classic beauty. "I have already had one offer on the car and know there will be interest. It will get you on the Ferrari 70th anniversary tour next year," John Collins said in a statement.

Classic built, speed and a credible brand are a combo sure to garner millions of dollars, this means anyone who has his eyes on the Ferrari 250 GTO should be well prepared to shell out a ton of money to get his hands on the classic beauty.
