2017 Toyota Sienna, Kia Sedona Snubbed By Online Car Awards? Chrysler Pacifica & Honda Odyssey Emerges As Winners

The 2017 Chrysler Pacific was named "Best Minivan of The Year" as it emerged a winner during the "Ultimate Minivan Challenge." The 2017 Honda Odyssey was also recognized as the "Best Car for Big Families" award. But, what about the Sienna?

The 2017 Toyota Sienna is the sole all-wheel-drive among the minivan roster. Its engine performance is certainly superior to all other minivans in the market.

Certainly not a sore loser, the 2017 Toyota Sienna's engine output is undoubtedly the most powerful at 296 horsepower. With, the 2017 Honda just a little behind with 290 horsepower and the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica at 248 horsepower. The 2017 Kia Sedona is a contender in this factor with 276 horsepower ahead of the Pacifica.

It seemed that performance is not enough for the Toyota's Sienna to snag the "Best Minivan Of The Year," by Cars.comAmong the criteria laid out for judging was real-world fuel economy and need suitability. There were a series of round-robin tests conducted by the experts from the online magazine, as reported by PR Newswire.

Not to be overlooked, 2017 Toyota Sienna's engine performance is undoubtedly the most superior at 296 horsepower. With, the 2017 Honda just a little behind with 290 horsepower and the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica at 248 horsepower. The 2017 Kia Sedona is a contender in this factor with 276 horsepower ahead of the Pacifica.

It has to be observed though that this horsepower would mean nothing for most buyers. Minivan buyers are mostly small or growing families and have most likely ridden with their kids in the back.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica's victory was effortless because of its updated function and performance innovation. It certainly raised the ante with its rear-seat infotainment system, complete with apps and built-in games.

This will then highlight the fact that the Sienna is in bad need of a technological makeover, a point stressed by NY Daily News. The only tech-related feature it has is an ancient intercom system, which makes the driver audible until the last row of the car.

On the other side of the fence, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica just kept on earning points. It recently came up with a hybrid edition. The Sienna and 2017 Kia Sedona wasn't snubbed after all. The minivan ranking reveals the Sienna came in second place and the Sedona at third.

Toyota though it was the 1st-runner up, must learn from the minivan pioneer and recover from the misses it kept having since it came out in 2011. It can't rely on its sole performance only. The Japanese carmaker needs to catch-up on a lot when it comes to interior.
