It was reported that the Ford Mustang GT4 is highly recommended for those who are fond of racing the streets. In fact, the model was based on the Ford Shelby GT350R-C which was declared the champion for this year's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Since IMSA 2018 is going to CTSCC's top Grand Sports class to GT4, this new car's participation was exactly on time, according to Jalopnik.

Who's Behind This Spectacular Model?

The said development of the 2018 Ford GT4 was a collaborative effort of Ford Performance and mechanical engineers of Multimatic Motorsports which also campaigned the Ford Mustang Shelby GTR350R-C in CTSCC. In fact, the campaign was considered as a huge success that the series was deemed the same as the Super Ultimate Mustang vs. Cayman Battle Time for this year's season.

The Specs

The model will be powered by a 5.2L flat-plane crank V8 engine that was also utilized for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 model. With the latter having the manual, six-speed sequential transmission option, the former would have a Hollinger fitted into it, according to Auto Blog.

The chassis was also developed by Multimatic Motorsports who installed new shocks, has lower rear control arms, and anti-roll bars. The body was also made even bigger with a larger rear wing and front splitter. With respect to the interiors, the model will also be installed with an ABS controller and data logger from Motec.

With the brand-new Ford Mustang GT4, will the brand win in the upcoming 2018 IMSA competition under the GT5 class series?
