Audi News: Duval Admits "Painful" Defeat Over Toyota in WEC Fuji

Audi News revealed that it was a devastating day for the car company as they fell behind Toyota at the WEC 6 Hours in Fuji. In fact, the carmaker even admitted that what they took to the tracks was their quickest package.

Loci Duval, the #8 car driver during the WEC 6 Hours of Fuji along with Oliver Jarvis and Lucas di Grassi lost to the #6 Toyota who finished first during the final hour.

Duval was only 13 seconds behind the winner during the final 45 minutes and came closer to 1.4 seconds before the checkered flag.

The defeat was not the carmaker's first for this year. In fact, during the Circuit of the Americas, Duval also expressed his distraught for losing with a powerhouse vehicle on the tracks.

According to Motor Sport, Duval felt the race was quite close to the finish. However, Duval was expecting the Porsche to outrun it, as news have manifested before the race even began.

In other Audi News, the Grand Prix Times reported that driver of the #6 Toyota, Kamui Kobayashi, finished the FIA World Endurance Championship first too.

Its performance during races was owed to the team's short-fueling service car and the last but one stop to move into second gave it the best chance at finishing first.

The #26 G-Drive Racing car of Will Stevens was also fighting to end the race as champion. However, Alex Brundle and Roman Rusinov claimed the team's first victory in all history of the race.

Despite the loss of Loci Duval during the WEC 6 Hours of Fuji race as was revealed by Audi news, the team was able to defeat the Porsche candidate - a development since they previously expected to be outrun by the vehicle. Despite the loss, Duval still admitted that the Toyota candidate deserved the well-earned win.
