The Japanese carmaker finally announced and revealed to the world the brand new 2017 Honda CR-V vehicle at Detroit flanked by two trailer trucks. The fifth-generation vehicle made the screening as a fall showcase instead of waiting for the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Last week, Chevrolet announced that they would be showcasing a "ride and drive program" with their Chevrolet Cruze hatchback model. However, the carmaker was not the only light of the show as even the reporters went on their way to see what Honda had in store at another event.
As reported by Chicago Tribune, the CR-V was on display in Detroit last week which was also a produce market event. With its collaborative work with Chevrolet, the reporters, as well, took the effort and came to see what the other ally team was also putting up for the automobile fans that day.
Before the event was to start and before the 2017 Honda CR-V was to be revealed, the carmaker's spokesman, Steve Kinkade, announced that he was more pleased to be working with Chevrolet (General Motors) with respect to the Cruise drive function that they had been working collaboratively at present.
After the said announcement, the vehicle was unveiled and was labeled as he second best-selling vehicle in Detroit. As was tradition, Honda usually shinned their new models from the spotlight months before they would be on sale. However, with Chevrolet also focused on showcasing the Cruze, Honda was not a leg behind revealing their CR-V version.
As reported by Stuff, the brand new vehicle remained a family vehicle which will be the flagship model for the company against its Mazda and Volkswagen competition models.
The 2017 Honda CR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter engine like that of the brand new Honda Civic Sedan. It also generates 42kW in tune, is able to use 127W, and is installed with a tailgate with a foot-operated sensor, a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay feature along with the Android Auto connectivity.
