2018 Chevrolet Cruze To Have New Transmission Features, Vehicle Will Run On Diesel?

Fans of the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze will have varied choices with respect to their preference in transmission and gasoline types. It was revealed that the model will be up for sale next year and will be available in either manual or automatic transmission as well as between a gas or diesel powered engine.

The president of General Motors of North America, Alan Batey, recently announced that they have incorporated the diesel feature in the upcoming 2017 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles. In fact, the said 1.4-liter turbocharged I-4 gasoline engine would also be offered with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual option.

Why The Diesel?

The said adjustment was revealed to be for the purpose of expanding the target market of the make and model. Younger males were said to be fond of manual transmission vehicles that are powered by diesel because it sounds more masculine, according to Chevrolet officials, reported Auto Blog.

In fact, there will also be a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback coming by the middle quarter of 2017 which has an estimated value of $22,190 and is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo diesel.

Also, the change in gasoline choice for their models was deemed to be indicative of General Motor's entry into the diesel automobile market. Apart from the Cruze, the company has lodged the creation of the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox in the same fashion which will be powered by a turbo diesel four-cylinder.

The Price Range

As reported by Motor Trend, the diesel feature is a new addition to the franchise. Usually sold with a gas-powered engine, the $22,190 worth 2017 Chevrolet Cruze will be available for purchase come first quarter of next year.
