Formula Thunder 5000 Joins The Tracks, Makes Debut At Muscle Car Masters

After its debut at the Australian Formula 3 Championship event at Winton, the prototype Formula Thunder 500 will make its way to the Muscle Cars Masters display this coming late October at the Sydney Motorsport Park. What will the vehicle showcase?

According to the series creator for the Australian Formula 3 event, Chris Lambden, it was an honor to have seen the brand new Formula Thunder 500 parade through the tracks. However, this was said to not be the last time that fans of the vehicle will get to see it perform.

Where's The Car Been And Where's It Going in the Future?

As reported by Motor Sport, the Formula Thunder 500 vehicle will make another appearance in the upcoming Muscle Car Masters event this late October at the Sydney Motorsport Park. It was also announced that the car will be on public display for the first time at the said event and would embody the latest concept of the carmaker.

Furthermore, it was also revealed that the Formula Thunder 500 vehicle will be a participant in the upcoming summer series in Australia and New Zealand by December 2017.

The Specs

According to Lambden, the Formula Thunder 500 has upgraded its gearbox, engine, and MoTeC system which was apparently working excellently during its first debut at Winton. Racer Tim Macrow drove the car then and was seen to have a loud roar at the tracks and ran smoothly.

In other news, Speed Café reported the car had been under development for almost a year and was delayed in delivery due to its Hollinger gearbox. Furthermore, makers also revealed that the car has been made to run on conservative terms of set-up and lap times during the race. Despite the restriction, the Formula Thunder 500 car was able to garner 1:20s which are almost the same as that of the Supercar lap record.

The plan to display the Formula Thunder 500 vehicle for the public to see was expected by Lambden to raise purchase orders of the vehicle ahead of the planned 2017 summer series where it will also participate.
