Zvexx Can Be The Tesla Of Motorcycles, Boasts Of 1218 Nm Of Torque Right From Zero Rpm

All of the biggest names from the world of motorcycles, be it the Harley Davidson or the Honda Firebirds, they have a few things in common. They have huge street presence, make their presence known with their unique aural signature and have dollops of power, or rather torque.

The new Zvexx - a weird name for a motorcycle it sure is - has it all but from a different point of view. That's because its electric powered and hence is silent in its operations. The matt black finish together with its low slung design further adds to its stealthy attributes.

Then it has got those big fat tires as well that happens to be the biggest tell-tale signs of what it is really capable of. And it is here that the real story begins, what with the almost insane 1218 N-m of torque that the Zvexx drivetrain produces. Imagine all of that being available right from zero rpm to the rear wheels, AutoEvolution reported .

No wonder the 0 - 80 kmph comes up in just 3 seconds though it could be a real challenge to have proper control over that much of twist that is provided to just one wheel. Also the torque rating puts the Zvess motorcycle in the league of supercars where again it is distributed to all four wheels.

Range is a quite decent 150 kms (93 miles) that is achieved from its 13 kWh battery pack comprising of 26 lithium-ion battery cells. No horsepower rating has been provided though.

To anyone who might have started salivating with the juicy prospect of owing one, the Zvess motorcycle is still a one-off wonder. There are no plans to mass produce it either though the group of Swiss engineers who build the motorcycle with help from a few local bike shops said they might consider a limited production run if there is enough demand.

While there sure won't be any dearth of motorcycle enthusiasts who'd like to own one of these, the one thing the makers of Zvess might consider is enhancing the range by a few more tens of miles even if that means sacrificing on torque a bit. In any case, the Zvess seems to have it all to do to motorcycles that Tesla did to automobiles.

Meanwhile, here is the link to the official Zvess website.
