The strongest and fastest muscle car competition continues as Mercedes-Benz recently announced they have created the perfect competition for the BMW M4 GTS, the 'under the works' 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63.

Out for a test drive in Nürburgring, Germany, the brand new 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 R has been deemed to be capable of running to near 500 horsepower. In fact, it was revealed last June that the top-rung performance version of the franchise will be one of the most powerful GTs yet.

As reported by Jalopnik, the car had been modified to be a better match against its most prominent rival, the BMW M4 GTS which is capable of running 492 horsepower and circle Nürburgring, Germany just in seven minutes and 28 seconds. In fact, another rival, the Porsche Carrera GT can also achieve the said feat.

The Specs

It was revealed that the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT-R is as noisy as the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro - the best-selling muscle cars in the industry to date. It has been tested and scored a straight A on the track, can go from 0-60 mph in only 3.7 seconds and commands within 70 mph, stirring efforts clocked in as light on-center, and is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine.

The Value

As reported by Car and Driver, the company has been holding up to keep the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT-R as its flagship model in the muscle car industry. Its predecessor was recorded to have a capacity of 469 horsepower for a value of $67,925 base price but the brand new version was estimated to garner 500 horsepower for a value of $75,925.]

In the hopes of dominating the muscle car industry, the carmaker has brought the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 GT-R model into the market. With a possible horsepower of 500, will it knock out the BMW M4 GTS model off the racks?
